Creating 40,000 work opportunities over six years put Northwest Arkansas among the nation’s elite job creators.
That’s why Forbes ranked the region at No. 2 its 2016 list of Best Midsize Cities for Jobs.
The ranking was published May 19. The midsize cities were those with 150,000 to 450,000 total nonfarm jobs. Northwest Arkansas has about 240,000.
Fayetteville was noted as the home of the Univeristy of Arkansas and for its proximity to the Ozark Mountains. The mountains were described as one of the premier outdoor recreation destinations in middle America.
