Organizers Aim for 1,500 Attendees at Northwest Arkansas Technology Summit

Interest in the Northwest Arkansas Technology Summit is increasing as organizers expect to see up to 1,500 people attend this year’s event in Rogers.

Scheduled for October 7 at the John Q. Hammons Convention Center in Rogers, the Bentonville/Bella Vista Chamber of Commerce and the Northwest Arkansas Technology Council will be putting on the event for the third time.

More than 50 speakers are scheduled to participate in the all-day event.

Kevin Turner, former Microsoft chief operating officer who redently became CEO of Citadel Securities, is the keynote speaker.

Other Northwest Arkansas Technology Summit speakers include John Cohn, IBM’s self-proclaimed “mad scientist”; Rita Carney, a vice president of innovation at Walmart Stores; Sam Dean, executive director of Scott Family Amazeum; Bill Akins, a senior vice president of business innovation at Rockfish; and Mo Gomes, vice president at Gartner Executive Programs.

The full lineup includes business technology leaders from Walmart, Sam’s Club, IBM, Oracle, SAP, Roku, Intel, Digimarc, AT&T, Teradata and Samsung.

Representatives of Arkansas startups such as RevUnit, Lauren James, Menguin, Acorn and Junk Brands will discuss how technology has played a role in their success.
