Rivalry with Texas Unites Arkansans Statewide

Nothing unites Arkansans like the Razorbacks do so it’s the perfect time to remind everyone that it’s fast approaching Bowl Game Day against one of team’s biggest rivals.

The University of Arkansas Razorbacks take on the Texas Longhorns on Monday in Houston, rekindling the football series that goes back more than 100 years.

They’ll square off in the AdvoCare Texas Bowl, which will be televised at 8 p.m. on ESPN.

Headed into Monday night’s game, the prognosticators were picking the Razorbacks to win, including Athlon SportsDallas Morning News beat writer Stefan ScrafieldFox Sports and ESPN.

Those early years in the rivalry against the Longhorns were tough on the Razorbacks. Arkansas didn’t score a single point against the Longhorns in their first four meetings, and only 20 total points through the first 14 games. The Razorbacks lost them all.

While Texas leads the all-time series 56-21, the Razorbacks have won three of the past five games.
