University of Arkansas Among ‘Best Value’ Colleges

The University of Arkansas is the only college in the state to make an important list of Best Value Colleges published by the Princeton Review.

Arkansas is among 75 public universities on the annual list. The nearest public college listed is the University of Oklahoma, which is a 3½-hour drive from the University of Arkansas campus in Fayetteville.

USA Today published the full list of “Best Value” colleges. Arkansas has consistently appeared on the list since it was first published in 2004.

“In the last 10 years, the cost of a college education has skyrocketed, putting it out of reach for many,” said Suzanne McCray, the University of Arkansas vice provost for enrollment management and dean of admissions. “The University of Arkansas has been steadfast in its commitment to provide an excellent education while keeping the costs down as much as possible and making access a priority. This recognition for those efforts by the Princeton Review is important for prospective students and their parents to know.”

The Princeton Review develops its list based on institutional and student surveys conducted at 650 colleges and universities over the past three academic years. More than 30 factors are considered, including academics, cost of attendance and financial aid.

The University of Arkansas shared information about being listed by the Princeton Review.
