The Northwest Arkansas Council in mid-2018 announced the new Greater Northwest Arkansas Development Strategy. It's an aggressive plan that calls for a transformational changes and improvements, and it has the Council continuing its core work that's occurred over the past several years.

The strategy, which comes on the heels of successful plans pursued by the Council and its partners beginning in 2011 and 2015, describes what the region must do to remain one of the most successful places in the nation. There's an emphasis placed on helping the University of Arkansas double its research funding, on creating a world-class workforce training center and on both recruiting and developing talent to meet the needs of the region's companies.
